Sowing
depth
Principally,
the sowing depth should be as flat as possible and as deep as necessary.
Above all, a regular sowing depth is of vital importance to guarantee
a regular coming up of the plants and, thus, a regular arrangement
of the plants, simultaneous maturity and well-balanced calibrations.
A sowing depth of 1,5 - 2,5 cm (depending on the soil type) has
proven most successfull in exact trials. The application of herbicides,
which is necessary for economical reasons, requires a minimum depth
of 2 cm for the herbicide Stompsc, which is commonly used in the
stage before the plants begin to germinate. On the other hand, if
possible, 2,5 cm shouldn´t be exceeded.
